Instilling Tolerance and Respect from an Early Age
At President Elementary School, diversity is not just a concept — it’s a living experience seen every day in classrooms.
Students come from various cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, yet they learn side by side in an atmosphere of unity and mutual respect.
Through the multicultural education approach, children are taught to see differences as strengths, not barriers.
Teachers use interactive learning methods — from group discussions and cultural games to interfaith celebrations — all designed to help students understand empathy, tolerance, and cooperation beyond boundaries.

We believe that school is not only a place to learn academically, but also a place for children to learn how to respect others.”
— Principal of President Elementary School
Enhancing Spiritual Education
At President Elementary School, Penguatan Pendidikan Rohani (PPR) or Spiritual Education Reinforcement is a vital part of our character development program. This initiative is designed to help each student deepen their understanding of their own faith—Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism, or Hinduism—through engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
PPR is more than just a religious subject; it’s a spiritual journey that nurtures the heart. Students explore universal values such as love, honesty, peace, and responsibility—taught in accordance with their respective beliefs.
The activities are held separately by religion, yet all within the same spirit of unity, harmony, and mutual respect. Under the guidance of their religious teachers, students participate in:
- Reflective discussions to connect religious teachings with daily life.
- Group worship and prayer sessions that strengthen spiritual bonds.
- Community service and charity projects that teach empathy and compassion.
Through PPR, President Elementary School fosters tolerance, respect, and understanding among students from different backgrounds.
Children learn that despite having different beliefs, they can live side by side peacefully and work together for the common good. This program reflects SD Presiden’s commitment to building a multicultural, harmonious, and character-driven school environment, where spirituality forms the foundation of every student’s growth and learning journey.
Celebrating Diversity Through Religious Holidays
We believe that diversity is the strength that unites us. Every year, we celebrate various religious holidays such as Halal Bihalal, Christmas, Chinese New Year, and the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (Maulid Nabi), which play an essential role in shaping our students’ character and values of tolerance.
Through these celebrations, students not only learn about the spiritual significance of each holiday but also embrace universal values such as love, gratitude, and mutual respect. During Halal Bihalal, students practice forgiveness and unity; at Christmas, they share joy through music and colorful decorations; Chinese New Year brings together wishes for good fortune and togetherness; and Maulid Nabi becomes a moment of reflection to emulate the Prophet’s noble character.
Each event is presented in an educational and joyful way, from art performances and interfaith prayers to charity activities. These experiences allow our students to live the essence of multiculturalism—growing as open-minded, respectful, and compassionate individuals who celebrate differences in harmony.
